A little information about me.

Anji Spicer Dip. Phyt., MCPP.


Herbal Education: College of Phytotherapy (Herbal Medicine), East Sussex. 1995 - 2001

Professional Membership:  College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy.
 


Previous Professional Activities: Dental Nurse for 14 years, both general and orthodontic practice;

After qualifying as a Herbalist - Briars Clinic, Herstmonceux, Sussex and then

                     Chester Clinic of Complimentary Medicine, Chester, Cheshire.

Other Qualifications since leaving school:

Foundation Studies in Exercise, City College, Manchester.

Part 1 ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)

Continuing Professional Development Activities: Previously - One day spent in Eastbourne District General Hospital's A&E department

April 2005 - 5 days in Hexham General Hospital Physiotherapy Department. Many thanks to all there, especially Kris Moat, the Clinical Specialist, for the wealth of knowledge gained during this time.

November 2005 - One day seminar in London with speakers Simon Mills & Kerry Bone.

2006 - One hour (medical) post graduate lectures at Hexham General Hospital (weekly).

May 2006 - One day seminar in London, speaker Kerry Bone.

June 2006 - Presentation given to doctors and pharmacists at Hexham General Hospital (Echinacea)

November 2006 - One day seminar in London on "Phytotherapy for PMS and the ageing female".

February 2007 - Presentation given to doctors at Hexham General Hospital (Hypericum (St John's Wort))

March 2007 - 3 hour workshop learning about Mediherb tablets and their uses

May 2007 - One day seminar in London, speaker Kerry Bone. "Herbs for Anti-Ageing and the Cardiovascular system"

October 2007 - Presentation given to doctors at Hexham General Hospital (General look at what a Medical Herbalist does)

2007 - One hour (medical) post graduate lectures at Hexham General Hospital (weekly). Various medical, surgical, orthopaedic and other subjects.

May 2008 - Presentation given to doctors at Hexham General Hospital (A look at using wild plants as a quick fix)

2008 - One hour (medical) post graduate lectures at Hexham General Hospital (weekly). Various medical, surgical, orthopaedic and other subjects. ONGOING

Current professional activities: The Herbal Clinic, Hexham.

I also currently work two days a week in the local hospital, as an Orthotics Officer.

Family: I live with my husband and 2 Children, (aged 17 and 15) and our three cats.


Interests: Football (MCFC Season ticket holder), playing local league darts; going to the gym; reading.
