Anji studied Phytotherapy (modern Herbal Medicine) for 5 years at the College of Phytotherapy in Sussex before qualifying in January 2001, having passed written and practical exams in medical, botanical and clinical subjects. She is a full member of the College of Phytotherapy Practitioners (CPP ) which is one of the professional bodies governing the field of Herbal Medicine, and which comes under the umbrella of The European Herbal and Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (EHTPA) Both bodies are actively involved in the issue of achieving Statutory Regulation for Medical Herbalists and believe the public has the right to know that Herbal Practitioners are suitably qualified, insured and work to the highest standards.
Anji has been in practice for almost ten years and has worked in Sussex and Chester before moving to Hexham to marry local optician Billy Kingman. She ran The Herbal Clinic within No Limits Health & Fitness (gym) for four years but is now taking a year out from practicing to concentrate on family needs and to wait for the recently approved Statutory Regulation of Medical Herbalists to come into effect.
Anji keeps up to date with medical knowledge by attending weekly post-graduate education meetings at the local hospital where various medical and surgical subjects are presented by doctors and other professionals. She likewise continues her herbal development by attending seminars for Medical Herbalists and subscribing to herbal literature aimed at the profession.
With a 14 year background in dental nursing and a part-time position within the NHS as an orthotics officer, Anji brings to the clinic all her experience of caring for patients and understanding their needs. She has a good relationship with local medical professionals and enjoys working in harmony with them to provide the best possible care for their patients.
Anji has two children - a son of 20 and a daughter of 18, and lives in a sometimes-chaotic household with them, husband Billy and her brother-in-law as well as three cats and a two hamsters. Her hobbies include being a season ticket holder at Manchester City Football Club, playing local pub-league darts, and reading.
Anji would like to thank her patients, colleagues, family and friends, for their support and understanding during this year long break.
